HOMEBREW KOREA

A quick thanks to HiExpat for posting info about the upcoming SMaSH-Off event on June 12th at Geckos Jukjeon. You can find the post here.

10 Magazine has just publish a short article on the upcoming Homebrew Korea SMaSH-Off event coming up on June 12th at the Geckos Jukjeon location.  Check it out here.

The back and forth battle between Brewdog and Schorschbräu breweries continues with the release of a new beer claiming the title of world’s strongest beer.  Schorschbräu has regained the title with a whopping 43% ABV beer!  Of course it’s being produced in a limted run, probably costs a fortune and I can safely bet we won’t be getting it here in Korea.

All seats are now full for the lunch/judging half of the event (if you wish to enter a SMaSH beer, please email me). I’m sorry to move the closing date forward a few days, but I must do so to make sure that there is enough beer to go around for the judging. I hope you understand, sorry for any inconvenience.

The second half of the event is of course open and free. Sampling of the remaining beer will happen on a first come, first serve basis with one sample per person per beer (while supplies last). This is to make sure that as many people as possible get a chance to taste the beer as possible.

Again, my apologies for any inconveniences.

If anyone is interested in talking ‘shop’, or talking beer rather then make your way to Geckos Jukjeon on June 12th at 3pm.  A bunch of brewers will be there to chat about brewing and beer and will have samples of their beer for tasting (one sample per beer per person, while supplies last).  It should definitely be a good time so come and check it out.  For more information see the forum post here or our Facebook Group.

Just a quick note….If you or any guests are planning on attending the first half of the SMaSH-off event, you must transfer 20,000won/person to the account listed by May 21st at the absolute latest (see here for details).
