I will be kegging a Christmas wit next week and will have some spare yeast cake for anyone who wants some. I will be able to provide about 200 ml in a small mason jar, either come by and pick it up or I can bring it to the meetup. It's supposed to be good for other Belgian styles, I plan on making a Leffe knockoff with the rest of the yeast.
Does anyone want some second generation yeast? I will probably rack my Leffe clone off this weekend and keep some for myself, but I'll have enough for a second mason jar. FYI, this yeast seems pretty slow going, so plan accordingly.
I'd take some 2nd gen off your hands, if only to compare with the Forbidden Fruit yeast I used for my last (and will use for my next) Wit. (And which I think I used in my BPA, though for the life of me I don't know what happened to the two bottles I brought on Saturday.)
Whichever one is available sooner... I was going to double-batch a Wheat beer and make half into Berliner Weisse, the other half into a Wit. I was going to use Forbidden Fruit but if I can get the Wit yeast off someone, then I can do a side-by-side with the two... which would also make it possible to spice the Wits, and make the Berliner Weisse as a single batch (or double batch, the other half as a light Weizen or something) some other day.
